The Green Hectares Concept

Green Hectares hopes to help sustain rural life in Canada in three ways;

  1. We are developing programs that can be distributed into rural areas as well as enriched learning at the proposed Green Hectares site.  These include our "Rural Road Show", online programs and expanded programming at the Green Hectares proposed facilities.
  2. Develop a physical location that has a blend of multipurpose facilities where all programs and facilities can be used and layered by different groups.  This will allow for economies of scale, building of critical mass, a rich learning environment, reduced risk and the optimal use of capital assets.
    1. Ag Entrepreneur and Conference Centre
    2. The Demonstration Farm
    3. The Livestock and Competition Centre
  3. Develop a strategic and integrated online presence that allows for accessibility of many of these resources across the province, the country and the globe.  In addition to the website, this online farming community could include many other social media applications.
