Green Hectares is building a number of programs that will positively impact rural commuities. The philosophy for our programming is to create access to new ideas and to build capacity in rural communities. With this in mind, we have partnered with many great organizations and hope to continue partnering into the future.
Our first significant year of programming was implementing computer mobile workshops. Green Hectares developed 18 2-hour workshops that help participants improve their computer skills. In addition, Green Hectares added flexibility in the programming that they could use resources present in the community or if needed they could gain access to a mobile computer lab, the internet and a trainer. The computer mobile workshops have given us a great base of learning to develop out our next phase of the Rural Road Show. We are still in the development stages but we have many exciting ideas and partnerships that we hope to announce soon.
